Clothing Materials
The Egyptian climate with its hot summers and mild winters prefer light clothing made from plant fibres, mostly linen. Linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant which grows a lot across the Mediterranean region. Linen takes a lot of effort to make but the fibre is very absorbent and it keeps you cool and fresh in hot weather. The rich wore tunics made of linen. The males wore them down to their knees and the women down to their ankles. Some men might have worn kilts which are like tunics only they don't cover the top half of the body. Females only wore the tunics.
